Earlier this year at its annual developer conference IO 2018, search giant Google showcased its augmented reality (AR) capabilities in Google Maps app. Now, it looks like Apple too is working in the same direction. The Cupertino-based firm has published some job postings hinting at bringing AR to Maps, as reported by the Thinknum website.

The website observed that the job posting came from Apple’s own career job website. The listing for ‘AR Application Engineer’ was seen on August 11. This was followed by five more job listings mentioning ‘AR Application’ in titles. The latest one was posted on 22 August this year. Although this makes it clear that AR is on priority for Apple, however, one of the apps that seems to be the top contender for AR integration is Apple Maps.
